May 21, 2012: "Quallity, Quality vocals there. That's the kind of thing we love on Soul Sermon." ~Mark Merry~ This was stated about Hog Pin on their song You're My Baby!

Hog Pin: Soul Time (Brittney) Three stars *** Solid Southern Soul Debut by a New Vocal Group by Daddy B. Nice. "Where in the world is Southern Soul going? So many of the new artists--Bigg Robb, Simeo, LaMorris Williams, Cupid, Rude, Lina--have a completely different sound, harder-edged, more crisply produced, in which hiphop and urban/R&B dominate over classic, blues-and-gospel-influenced Southern Soul.

Three Alabamans with hiphop roots--Setitoff, Bonnavill, and Passion (the latter a female)--make up Hog Pin, a new group with a new album, Soul Time, out on Brittney, Mel Waiters' label."

"It is official! Hog Pin signed a contract with Mel Waiters and his company Brittney Records.
What can you expect from this group? Well, they've made a goal of 3 million CDs sold. Yes, they plan to go triple platinum. "There is nothing to small for God. If you ask Him and you work for your goals and dreams, they can be transformed into reality," states Passion. The group plans a major campaign from state to state. If you are a fan or want to be a fan, you can contact them at (210)262-7812. "We want everyone we meet to buy our album. If you can't afford it, then, download one or two songs for just $0.99 each. Our songs are feel-good songs, and they make you want to dance and sing. With times hard like they are now, people want to be happy. They are tired of hearing how many cars you have, how much money you have, how many toilets you have and how you are rich and they are not. It's time for a change," states Bonnavill.
How will they affect the Southern Soul and R&B genres? "We were raised on that soulful music, and that is what we want to bring to our listeners. We want you to feel what we felt when we recorded those songs. Music is a powerful thing. It should be used to make someone happy or want to change their lives," states $etitoff. It's true. This group started out doing Hip Hop. Even if you listened to their Hip Hop songs, they talked about hope, faith and struggles in their lives. Looking at their performance on stage gave me a new profound happiness. I felt like I was in my teenage years again; looking at Motown acts but with a new flavor.
I've come to realize that our future is in good hands. We just have to nurture the ones that are trying to make a difference. The members of Hog Pin are trying. With some support, they will make a positive difference. Let's support this group! Mel Waiters saw a great deal of potential in them. "
