ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
JWhite is the most "not boring" Contemporary Jazz artist out today! The Detroit native has honed the craft of "New Groove" Sax vibes for listeners to indulge in time and time again. " A New Jazz Swagger" is filled with heavy saxophone melodies, mixed with smooth vocals and chest thumping beats! The single, "Girls around the world" has made several Smooth Jazz charts as well as Smoothjazz.com charts. Also, "Motown Funk" (reloaded) is quickly becoming a Jazz fan favorite! SmoothJazz.com Review
Mom said “choose,” and the young man went for appearance… but it was the sweet, soulful sound of the beautiful, curvy, brass wind instrument that escalated the hobby to a passion. Today, that young man is songwriter, producer and Nu Jazz saxophonist Jonathan “JWhite” White. He has carved out a signature sound that is soulfully driven… a style inspired by Smooth Jazz with a hint of straight ahead, but contemporary and fresh! It’s a ‘New Jazz Swagger,’ and this time out, JWhite’s reloaded the album with 11 new tunes… twice as many as 2011’s EP! According to the artist, "I want my music to have identity and purpose and be felt by people from all walks of life. The freedom and life I feel when I’m on stage or in a night club playing with my eyes closed, is the same feeling I want listeners to experience when they turn my records on.” We have no doubt that JWhite is determined and focused and with his role models ranging from Gerald Albright to Grover W. to Cannonball Adderly, the New Jazz Swagger is here to stay!
