3rd Machine

3rd Machine is a ‘Modern Metal’ band from Haarlem, The Netherlands. 10 years of experience as a band and over 20 years as musicians, which can be heard in the music and style of this metal-quintet. Experienced and up to current speed, maintaining a distinctive style in which brutal grooves are easily alternated with atmospheric melodies. Besides musically innovative, 3rd Machine are lyrically in touch with the perils of the current digital era in which the individual and privacy are in constant danger.

After producing 3 EP’s, with national and international acclaim, the band is releasing her debut album entitled Quantified Self on the 25th of April. Quantified Self in an excellent release on which 9 diverse songs are integrated to one unique and distinctive style. The album is laced with brilliant solo work from lead guitarist Gert Jan Vis, supported by groovy, brutal riffs from guitarist Ronald Kools. The album was 2 years in the making and during the recording process a lot of effort has been put into the detailed and spherical arrangements. Every time you listen to this intelligent album something new is discovered.

In addition to the lead vocals of John Ruiter, Mark Jansen from Epica delivers guest vocals on the track Ultimate Intelligence. On several other tracks Pieter Bas Borger and Rebecca Duin perform as guest vocalists.

Quantified Self already received raving reviews in several Dutch, UK and German Magazines and Webzines such as Aardschok, Metalfan.nl, Zware Metalen and Reaperzine.
