BIOGRAPHY
Andrea "ANDE' " Lawrence Singer/Songwriter
ANDE' has been singing as long as she can remember. She has memories (at age four) of standing on top of the furniture with any available “microphone” in hand, singing at the top of her lungs. She also started to play the Cello at tender age but, no longer continues in those lessons. Her early musical aptitude is not surprising when one considers the musical backgrounds of both sides of her family. Needless to say, her beautiful daughter (Angel) is following close behind not only singing, but has taken interest in playing the piano as well as the acoustic guitar.
ANDE' received her education at Lake Highlands High School receiving her diploma in May 2001 and from there she attended Richland College were she took classes in Music Appreciation along with basic Core classes. Her Vocal talents have placed her on some of the country’s leading concert hall stages, while her days fronting for Neo-Soul, Jazz and gospel bands landed her gigs in numerous, Churches, Clubs, Weddings, Black and White events and Universities. She has performed on stages throughout the US, including Sankofa Jazz club, Bacara Club in Addison, Texas, The A Room and The University of North Texas.
She scored her first major singing opportunity in December 2006 where she toured Italy with a gospel group “The Women of God” under the direction of Knagui Invernizzi from there she received another wonderful opportunity again in December 2009 with a different gospel group “Oscar Williams & Perfected Praise” under the direction of Oscar Williams. With no voice training behind her, Andrea displays a vocal control and range uncommon for most vocalists. Her distinct and unique style derived from many musical influences coming from several different Genre’s of music such as Gospel, Jazz, and Neo-Soul just to name a few.
As an independent artist, ANDE' is currently finishing her first Solo Album entitled “Embracing ANDE'” and is working hard in the studio everyday with NuWu Entertainment Productions. With being an independent artist it has been difficult for her to financially support this project but with her determination and strong will to succeed she is continuing to shine and work even harder.
