Asylum's musical sound is as unique as a fingerprint, yet strangely familiar to many. Being influenced by so many great artists, not just of the last decade but the last century; Asylum has combined their aggressive East Coast Rock/Metal & Hip-Hop roots with bits of freshness borrowed from everything from blues to dub step to reggae. With a sound this diverse in itself it is hard for anyone to not find at least one track from Asylum enjoyable!
The origins of Asylum are hidden high amongst the mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania, centered in the small city of Hazleton. In the formative years the core members Driggin and HeartLess experimented developing their sound, working with multiple bands, artists, & producers both individually and as a group. This further solidified the core based on integrity, ambition, and strength to pursue a higher level of success!
After independently releasing two albums "Quintessence" in 2011 and "Subterranean Takeover" in 2012 under their own power Asylum received the opportunity to work closely with the band WOLFPAC as the production crew for their web show "The Super Deluxe Fun Time Variety Show", one of the highest rated shows on Psychopathic Radio. This position quickly gained Asylum membership amongst the bands roster while they attempted to keep their own sovereignty & style alive. They would prove themselves worthy by joining WOLFPAC on tour, and also performing with other national artists such as Vanilla Ice!
What does the future hold for Asylum? They are currently working on their third independently released album, "The Asylum Project". "We have done so much for so long with so little...", HeartLess says adding, "its about time we do it right & when we do, it'll be undeniable!" The first single "Breaking Point" is about to launch on itunes along with a matching music video. With several more music videos in the works to promote the new album Driggin added, "People are sleeping on good music, its about time we wake them up." And that is exactly what Asylum plans to do.
