Aaron Burton

Biography

Aaron Burton channels the rich and diverse musical heritage of Texas music through the prism of the country blues, a style he has always embraced, seeing in the lone bluesman the personification of rugged individualism. Like many of the great country bluesmen and women before him, Aaron is completely self taught on his instruments which leads to a unique and interesting approach. To quote one of his Dallas mentors, the late, great Sam Myers, "Blues is a true story put to music." This is what Aaron does. His fifty plus original compositions are drawn from various life experiences and are delivered with warm, soulful, and unforced vocals. His travels have taken him from Memphis to Maine but he has truly honed his skills playing for his daily bread in the clubs, bars, restaurants, house parties and streets of his native DFW, Texas. As he says in Workaholic Blues, "I'm gonna keep on workin', payin' my dues, beatin' on this old axe, 'cause I'm hooked on these old country blues and there ain't no turnin' back."
