Aaron Green

Biography

Aaron Green is a singer/songwriter from Hobart, Tasmania, now based in Melbourne, Victoria. Aaron describes his music as "raw, real, and ruthless" emo-punk-pop-rock, influenced by such artists as The Rocket Summer, 30 Seconds To Mars and Jimmy Eat World. His style is a cross between Muse and Death Cab For Cutie, with the sound of “AFI with piano” and a voice often matched to an early Thom Yorke.

"For me, songwriting is like trying to remember a distant tune or melody that you used to know," Aaron says. "It doesn't just happen, it evolves from something, often feelings that are lost or repressed."

His music aspires to grasp people's raw emotions through clouded but threateningly familiar narration. His naked lyrics possess the listener's sensations as they flow organically with his haunting melody and dirty harmony.

Aaron’s greatest success to date was being awarded third place in the Urban category of the National MusicOz Awards 2006 for his song ‘The Game (Pointless Affair)’.

He is currently working on his latest songs which were recorded in the studio with a full band. Aaron is really taking the time to perfect every aspect of all songs to create a well polished representation of his new upbeat and improved style.

Aaron revels in immersing himself in today’s music scene. He has a strong belief in the power of creativity and desires to bring music back to what is important: “Telling our stories”.
