BIOGRAPHY
My name is Joe Augustin and I am an eclectic folk blues singer-songwriter with indie rock roots, who performs and records under the name Achilles Tenderloin. In the studio, I typically stick to original songs, but my live set also features a diverse array of adaptations.
My chief blues influences include Skip James, Lead Belly, Tommy Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Nina Simone and others, but I also draw inspiration from artists in many other genres, including Joanna Newsom, Leonard Cohen, The Toadies, Social Distortion and Kim Deal, to name a few favorites.
I currently live in Richmond, IN, and play regularly in an increasing number of venues around East-Central Indiana and West-Central Ohio. Richmond is home of historic label Gennett Records, which boasts early recordings by such artists as Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charlie Patton and more.
My Facebook page features recordings, photos, and event information: http://www.facebook.com/achillestenderloin
