I have been a songleader in the Chicagoland Area for over a decade. I have musically led many congregations in worship, and am now pursuing Rabbinical School. I have been a singer/songwriter most of my life and this is my debut Jewish album!
My song, "Shabba, Shabba" has grown in popularity and is now being used in the JCC's of Chicago, as well as other various locations around the country.
I have recreated some prayers that are thousands of years old by adding modern sounds and rhythms. At the same time, I have utilized some ancient modes in my song, "Negev Lullabye."
This album is meant to be a journey through Shabbat. It begins with singing to G-d and showing "hakarat hatov", or grateful appreciation. The song, "For Those In Our Hearts," reminds us that Shabbat is a time of reflection and remembering those who have passed. That song and "Everybody Has A Place" are dedicated to the memory of a dear friend, Rebecca.
I plan to songlead and perform throughout my rabbinical career, as well as continue to publish music. I would love to come to your community and share my music as Artist-in-Residence. I also teach others how to be successful songleaders and would love to come to your community and host a workshop. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
