Adam Emil, a 23-year-old new singer and songwriter in Chicago is paving the way with his hot new sound, and image to match. Adam was born in Riverside, California and raised in Country Club Hills Illinois with his mother, father, and sister since age three. Emil, who has been playing the piano since the age of six, describes his sound as, “R&B Soul, with a little bit of hip-hop influences.” “When I’m in the studio recording, I feel like a rock star and I know it’s right,” Adam Emil says. Adam credits his musical influences to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and Quincy Jones who have inspired him to “live life and be great.”
In November of 2006, Adam was crowned as an Apollo Legend. Another proud moment was when he won B.E.T.’s ‘YA HEARD’ new artist competition for his single “One and Only”. This was a Valentine’s Day song writing competition, and he won with a landslide victory of well over 20,000 votes from around the world. With also winning a singing competition in New Jersey, May of 2007, and becoming Chicago radio station, WGCI’s first ever “Hometown Hero,” Adam’s career is off to a great start. Adam Emil is striving to create a large enough buzz around his music to tour Chicagoland and eventually the world.
Adam is spending most of his summer in the studio and teaching music to children on the west side of Chicago at the School of Performing Arts.
