First Prize Winner at the 1997 Stotsenberg International Classical Guitar Competition, del Monte is one of the new generations leading guitarists in the world today by being a dynamic force in both flamenco and classical guitar. He studied flamenco & classical guitar in Spain, Israel& England. Adam learned the art of flamenco with such famed Gypsy performers as Pepe “Habichuela” and Gerardo Nunez. He studied classical guitar with Gordon Crosskey at Chethams School of Music and at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, England. He has also appeared as both a solo artist and group performer in major theaters such as Wilshire Theater; the Teatro Real and the Conde Duque in Madrid; Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada; New Mexico St Francis Auditorium in Santa Fe; the International Guitar Festival in Israel, GFA in St Louis,’96, La Jolla ,’97 and Charleston, 99 GFA, Guitar Festival, the 500th anniversary of Columbus celebrations in Paris & Madrid.

Del Monte has also performed with flamenco singer Enrique Morente and the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, as well as with Lole Montoya.

He has been commissioned by the LA Guitar Quartet to compose a ‘progressive’ flamenco piece entitled ‘Cambio de Aire’. He has collaborated with Yusef Lateef and the Atlanta Symphony at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta GA.
His flamenco debut CD on the Spanish label Sonifolk (1998),entitled:
“Viaje a Un Nuevo Mundo” .
Other discographies include: A Mel Bay Artist Video Series –a classical and flamenco recital.
A GSP classical CD entitled “EZORDIO”.
In 1998, Adam performed in Spain on the TV program “Algo Mas Que Flamenco” with Lole Montoya.
He has composed a flamenco guitar concerto ;”Ensueno Flamenco” for guitar & orchestra which he premiered in Boston with the BMOP(Boston Modern Orchestra Project) in Jordan Hall, conducted by Gil Rose.

In February of 2000 he performed the Concierto de Aranjuez with the LA Philharmonic.
In June 2000, he performed at the Hollywood Bowl, once with his flamenco ensemble and once with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and classical Spanish dancer Lola Greco.
Adam performed as soloist the Concierto de Aranjuez at Disney Hall.
He has also performed the “Aranjuez” with the Pacific Symphony with Carl St. Claire.
In 2005 del Monte took part in the Los Angeles Philharmonic Chamber Music Series at Disney Hall, performing the “Histoire du Tango” by Astor Piazzolla with violinist Mark Kashper
Del Monte has recorded for Deutsche Gramophone – the featured flamenco guitar part in the double Grammy award winning opera “Ainadamar” by Osvaldo Golijov (2006), with soprano Dawn Upshaw and the Atlanta Symphony, conducted by Robert Spano. Since then he has toured this opera in, Carnegie Hall, NY, Lincoln Center, NY, Barbican Center, London, Colorado Music Festival, in Boulder, Chicago Symphony, Teatro Argentino in La Plata, Argentina, and many more.
He has also recorded “Avner’s Theme” by film composer John Williams for the sound track CD of the motion picture “ Munich” by Steven Spielberg.
Adam has also recorded for the movie sound tracks of Toys Story 3, music by Randy Newman, and for Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, music by John Powell.
Adam has been on the studio guitar department faculty at USC since 2000, where he teaches flamenco and classical guitar.
In 2008 he has performed his Flamenco Concerto and the Concierto de Aranjuez
In Israel.
Adam has recently retuned from a tour in Spain(January 2009) playing with the project “Intercultural Journey”, a combination of Arabic, Israeli, Jewish and flamenco music, as part of an endeavor of perusing peace through music.

La carrera de Adam del Monte se extiende por una trayectoria de mas de veinte tres años. Despues de haber vivido en España por diez años y el resto de su juventud se repartio entre Alemania, Inglaterra e Israel, Adam lleva los ultimos diecisiete años viviendo en Los Angeles, EEUU, donde ha currtido una carrera de concertista y compositor de un nivel de reconocimiento notable, que incluyen actuaciones en España, Inglaterra, Francia, Israel, EEUU y Brazil.

Adam se ha destacado en el mundo de la guitarra por el hecho de haberse dedicado al flamenco y al clasico, donde tambien estudio en la Royal Northern College of Music y Chethams school of music. Paralelo a sus estudios clasicos, aprendio flamenco con grandes artistas como pepe Habichuela, Paco Cortez, Niño Miguel y Gerardo Nuñez.

Entre los mas notables conciertos y colaboraciones se encuentran los siguientes:

Grabacion para el sello discografico, Deutsche Gramaphon de la Opera Ainadamar,
Sobre Garcia Lorca, del compositor Argentino, Osvaldo Golijov. Adam toco la parte de guitarra flamenca en esa obra, que gano dos Grammys en 2006. Actuo con esa obra en Carnegie Hall, Licoln Center, con la Chicago Symphony, en el Barbican Center en Londres etc.

Toco con Enrique Morente en el Teatro Real y en el Auditorio Manuel de Falla en Granada. Toco con Lole Montoya. Aparecio en el programa Algo mas que flamenco con Lole Montoya.
Toco el Concierto de Aranjuez varias veces con la Filarmonica de Los Angeles en el Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, toco en Disney Hall, en Los Angeles.

Estreno su concierto flamenco para guitarra y orchesta en Jordan Hall, en Boston.

Adam tambien ha grabado para varias peliculas de Hollywood, como Munich de Steven Spielberg, musica compuesta por John Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, con Brad Pitt y Angelina Jolie. Tambien toco para la pelicula Knight and Day, con Tom Cruise y Cameron Diaz, ambas compuestas por John Powell, y tambien Toy Story 3, musica de Randy Newman.

Por los ultimos 9 años Adam ha sido professor de guitarra flamenca y clasica en USC, la unversidad de Sur de California.
