Denisse Takes (formerly Denisse Sangiovanni) is an Italian/Dominican, singer/songwriter born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and raised in the highly cultural domains of Miami, Florida. Her style is folk rock, and her lyrics contain a level of maturity and enlightenment that many songs in this day lack.
Completely self taught, Denisse started playing guitar at the age of 16. To this day her main priority is breaking the boundaries of language through sound. Throughout the years she has mainly focused on solo work with the exception of a short lived experimental band called, Glomer.
Denisse’s current project, AfterGlo Music is a regeneration and evolution of her previous solo work. Although her tunes are beginning to reflect a stray from her minimalistic persuasions; her sultry vocals, and insightful lyrics remain in tact.
