Akis Daoutis


Born in Athens in 1960. Graduated from Athens College in 1979. Studied chemistry
at the College of Wooster (Ohio, USA) and got his B.A. in 1983. Graduate studies
at Ohio University (1984-1986). Parallel studies in electronic music and
collaboration with the Center of Contemporary Music Research founded by Iannis
Xenakis. His early works were presented in Bourges ’87 Festival(Distinction) and
in World Music Days ’88.Among others, he has composed a variety of electro acoustic
works and has scored the music for K. Giannaris’ films ‘From the edge of the
city’(Greece's submission for the Oscar 2000 Academy Awards) , ‘One Day in
August’(Nominated for the Golden Berlin Bear at Berlin International Film
Festival-2002) and 'Man at Sea'(2011).
