Alan Lewis Silva began his musical voyage when he recorded his first album in Santa Barbara in 2001 at eighteen years of age. These songs, however, were not published until his 2004 (3-CD) release, Boa Sina. Between 2001 and 2004 Silva continued recording songs while his musical style shifted into a bohemian troubadour mode. It was a happy time. He lived in an apartment in Isla Vista and later at a house in Santa Barbara over the years while he furthered his education at the University of California. The volume of Alan Lewis Silva early songs reveals a diversity of leisurely moments and perspectives about songwriting. Not only does his voice change, but also does his dramatic content which reflects a coming of age. The romantic complaint and bohemian philosophy are some of the interesting topics and themes involved in these recordings, which are further enumerated in 2004's Mystery House and 2005's Big Green Country.
Since 2014's Ash City: Is a World, Alan is now more focused than ever making professional quality recordings, issuing briefer but more refreshing titles, expanding to visual, film art, and writing, and re-issuing select and for the first time professionally mastered anterior works from his professional catalog (beginning with Boa Sina on its 10 year anniversary).
Mr. Silva currently lives in San Diego, California.
