Katie Emerick is a Homer-based singer-songwriter. She received her university education abroad in Europe and Asia, studying cultures and furthering her understanding of how music stands as an essential tool for communication and expression. A trained vocalist and pianist, Katie picked up the guitar while on the road and her music follows a self-reflective path of social observation, seeking to depict the honest human emotions that are universal. Growing up in a world of folk and bluegrass, these genres still find a ready presence in Katie’s songs although stints living in New York and London have given her a deep appreciation for the underground rock scene that is ever experimental. Drawing inspiration from the darker edges found in the likes of P.J. Harvey and the rhythmic sensibilities of Chris Pureka, Katie is a defiant explorer, never contented to remain stagnant. Having lived in Homer for two years now, she also works for a music production company and as a music writer for the Anchorage Press. For more information on Katie check out www.myspace.com/katieemerick

"Playing music since she sang along to the piano in her mother's womb, Caressa has painted the the edges of her experience with sound and poetry. A driven and engaging singer/songwriter, her acoustic guitar ranges from sweet smoky, folky blues to creative and often alternatively tuned instrumental dirges, while her voice shapeshifts from soft and sweet to guttural and passionate. Often compared to Ani Difranco or Jewel (thanks!) - Caressa is ardently carving out her own path among the wilds of Alaska. Her album Wanderlust, was released in Spring of 2009 but is currently only available at live performances. You can listen to some of her music at http://www.myspace.com/caressala or email caressala@yahoo.com for booking and more information."

Joleen Decker grew up in in the Mojave Desert of Southern California where she was at home and in-tune with her natural surroundings as a horseback cowgirl. When Joleen moved closer to LA in the last 2 years of high school and her 'home on the range' was non-existent she became more introspective. She then was inspired by the art world, and while spending more time indoors and on the computer she found her talent in graphic design. She came to Alaska in 2001 to attend college at APU and has since traveled the state like a gypsy with the camera by her side. It wasn't until 2008, while living in Cordova, that she found her passion as a photo-artist. While being in love with 'the world in a water drop' she combined her vision & spirit with photography & graphic design to create her own unique art called Spirit-ah-graphy. When she's not creating pictures, she loves to play with her son, dance with her friends, and network about sustainable living and protection of our environment . She is currently expanding her creative process and grounding herself in beautiful Homer. You can find her artwork at www.spirit-ah-graphy.com
