Alex Papadiamantis Born in Hamburg.
Started violin at the age of 8 in Athens Conservatory with Tatsis Apostolides. Continued violin studies in Greek Conservatory (where also studied Piano, Harmony, History of Music and Counterpoint) with Stelios Kafantaris and graduated with a grade A Soloist Diploma and a first prize. Took part in several music competitions in Greece such as “Youth Musicians”- 1983 (Athens) and “Chamber Music”- 1993 (Thessaloniki), and has been awarded with the first prize. After studies, attended master classes for chamber music in Greece and abroad (USA) with famous violinists such as L. Mordkovich and P. Zuckerman.
Has been a member of several orchestras in Greece (Symphonic Orch. of Greek Broadcasting and Television, Orch. of University of Athens, Orch. of Scientists-Artists, where also played as a soloist) and Europe (Youth Orch. of European Community).
Has given concerts and recitals of chamber music around Greece and also abroad (Germany, Bulgaria, USA) and has cooperated with several Greek soloists of piano, guitar, flute, cello etc. as a member of music ensembles (duos, trios, quartets).
During last years, besides classical music, focuses on interpretation and performance of contemporary music of the 20th- 21st century and tries to discover new composers with extreme music script, offering to the violin new sound, new techniques and a different modern character.
Has been a member of trio “Arte a Tre” (violin-flute-guitar), which has taken part in national and European festivals, performing for the first time compositions especially written or dedicated to the ensemble.
Has been a member of the "ECHO String Quartet" (as the first violin), performing especially contemporary chamber music (also written by Greek composers) and arrangements of famous jazz pieces and rock songs.
Works as a soloist with Greek composer and performer Stamatis Spanoudakis since 2000 and has taken part as a soloist to his albums. Have given concerts all over Greece (Athens “Hrodeio”, Thessaloniki, Cyprus etc.) and Europe (Romania, England “Albert Hall” with the Royal Academy of London).
Has been a member of the Greek metal band “Deviser” with the electric violin. Since 2005 is a member of the Greek epic metal band “BattleroaR”, making live concerts in festival among Europe.
Besides violin, started to play his own music at an early age. After studies in music theory and harmony, composed works for chamber music or bigger music ensembles. Composes using modern music technology, synthesizers and PCs. Likes to experiment with other kinds of music, such as new age with ethnic elements and combines acoustic and electric violin. His music works, which combine acoustic physical organs, electric violin and electronic sound, has been written for films, plays, dramas, poems diction, ballet and television commercials. Music combined with picture or scenes is his ideal for composition.

Owns three violins. The acoustic one is Joannes Baptista Zanolli, the four string electric violin is made from Andy Hollyman in Uk and the five string violin custom made by Nick Brass in Greece.
