Alex Valentine

Alex Valentine grew up in Camden Town, London. In 2004 he released LOCAL HISTORY on his own Struck Dumb Records label, gaining much national radio exposure with ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Spinning Wheel’.

In 2006 he moved to the Welsh mountains. It was in this relative isolation that Alex wrote and recorded Tardis Heart, his third album, a beautiful collection of stripped back heart-wrenching songs. This was followed by ‘A Short Album About Love’ … twelve highly edited, tautly written pop songs, produced as briefly as possible… it’s a concept album that’s actually enjoyable!

The video for Hurricane from this album was an internet hit, becoming number one featured youtube video, embedded on hundreds of sites, it has amassed over half a million internet views to date.

From this video FOUR LINE LONG POEM was born… Alex’s very own pop poetry stanza. There are now three series of poems/photographs, available as limited edition prints or postcard collections from the online store.

2010 saw the completion of ‘A Is For…’ a lush sounding masterpiece of much passion.

Coming soon… ‘LOST SONGS’ a new album due very soon on Struck Dumb Records.

Alex was first discovered by Bob Harris and has also been championed by Jonathan Ross, Jonnie Walker and Dermot O’Leary, all on BBC Radio 2 and has performed his music all over the world, recently in India, California and Spain.

Alex is married to the novelist Jenny Valentine.
