Alika Nako'oka is a Hawaiian singer/songwriter with over 20 years of entertaining experience.
He was born on the island of Maui and raised on the songs of C&K, The Brothers Cazamero, Kapena and, of course, his Uncle Jesse. He began singing at a young age, performing at various events with his family throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Pacific Northwest. Later, he also played venues in Los Angeles, Seattle and Las Vegas. In 1993, he moved to Seattle and has worked steadily as a professional entertainer since. In August of 2009, Alika opened for Keahi Conjugacion and The Makaha Sons at the Kalama Heritage Festival. Alika just returned from his very successful 2010 tour of the Hawaiian Islands.
He comes from a history of popular Hawaiian entertainers such as his father, Alika Sr. and his uncles Jesse, and William "Smiley" Nako'oka. Jesse was famous for his long running Luau show at the Maui Lu resort on the island of Maui. In the late 1960's to the mid 1980's, he had a string of best selling albums which included hits such as "54 Bridges to Hana Town" and "The Maui Waltz".
"..I love to write, but my real passion is performing what I write. I love the process. For me, it's always been about getting the song to resonate with someone else. To get them to feel the truth of what I'm thinking and feeling. It's such a personal experience.." "..This Album is a mixture of my contemporary pop side and love of my Hawaiian culture, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.."
After meeting Alika and hearing his voice,
you'll know you've encountered something of lasting significance.
