Allison Preisinger

Biography

Recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Allison Preisinger grew up in rural Western Washington. Influenced by her grandfathers acoustic guitar, her grandmothers musical saw and the player piano in their living room Allison began writing lyrics at a young age and in 2006 she wrote, recorded and produced her first album, "Moving On, Moving Forward". Boris Budd of "What's Up! Magazine" in Bellingham, WA called the album "delightful" and compared Allison's sound to artists like Neil Young and the Plastic Ono Band in a review of the CD published in August 2007.

During the summer of 2009 Allison toured the Northwest, performing at numerous cafes, bars and farmers markets including The Fairhaven in Bellingham, Washington down to the Twin Paradox Café in Portland, Oregon. Part of the tour was a stop in Seattle to play for two nights at a KIA Motors conference at the Hyatt Olive 8. Back in Boston in the fall of '09 Allison performed as part of the Guitarist Singer/Songwriter Night at the Berklee Performance Center in November as well as at the Unplugged Loft Series at Berklee College of Music in December.

In the Spring of '10 Allison performed in the Janis Ian Liberal Arts Symposium at Berklee College of Music, a tribute to Janis Ian's work. She was honored to perform one of Janis' most popular songs, "Society's Child". In the Fall of 2010 she performed in her final semester concert at Berklee's Berk Recital Hall with a wonderful, full band of musicians she met while going to school.

With those same musicians - Jenna Rycroft, Jessica Kion and Spyros Magliveras - Allison recorded her second album in 2011. The album, titled "Be Heard", is scheduled to release in the Spring of 2012. Allison plans to perform in the Northwest to support her album release this summer.
