AMELIA SEYSSEL . . . . . .
Specializing in the Art Song repertoire of the Spanish, English and French language composers, Ms. Seyssel draws upon her Mexican, French and
English heritage and her love of fine poetry to draw intimate and personal interpretations from some of the finest composers of Art songs.
Praised for her "delicacy and artistry,” her “virtuosity,” and her "elegant, exciting and stunningly nuanced set of offerings," her recitals have been
described as "a truly delightful and enriching musical experience." Her collaboration with Ms. Maria Rivera White has invigorated her passion for the
Spanish language Art Song repertoire and has inspired a continual and persistent research in that area.
Ms. Seyssel holds a Master of Fine Arts in Music Performance from Mills College in California where she studied with Dame Donna Petersen and
visiting professor Jane Manning. Subsequent studies include work at the Manhattan School of Music Vocal Arts Institute, a master class with Dalton
Baldwin, and on-going studies with Joyce McLean of The Juilliard School's Evening Division.
MARIA RIVERA WHITE . . . . . .
Praised for her "impressive technique, great clarity, and expressiveness," and "excellent rapport" in collaboration, Ms. Rivera White has won
numerous competitions and an ongoing recognition for her fluid and inspiring accompaniments.
Drawing on her extensive youthful travels and her own Spanish and Puerto Rican heritage, she brings a spontaneous joy to her playing, her love
of music apparent in every note
Ms. Rivera White holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Barbara
Lister-Sink and Blanca Uribe. She subsequently completed a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano at The Juilliard School, was Adjunct
Instructor in Piano at Vassar College for almost a decade.
