Amy Steinberg

Biography

Amy Steinberg is a song-slinging, mood-shifting, wild-woman with the power to lift you up and soothe your spirit. Listening to a Steinberg cd or going to a live show is like popping a potent happy pill, or like experiencing a two-week long soul-healing retreat, or like pure, divine, transformational magic. However you are feeling before you press play or walk in, you are bound to feel even better after experiencing Amy’s presence and listening to her words of whimsy and wisdom.

When asked about her newest release, “Love Divine,” Amy says, “I am exceptionally proud of this record. Working with Justin Beckler again has been wonderful, and what we have accomplished is really special. Every single song stands on its own as a real masterpiece, and together it makes a dynamic collection.” This ten song disc is packed with poppy sing-a-long gems, bluesy spiritual revelations, and confessional love anthems. It was recorded over a period of two years in Beckler’s studio in Orlando, Florida.

Amy’s musical journey started at a very young age when she studied classical piano. After years of studying theater and music, Amy formed bands in Boston, New York, and Orlando. With the Amy Steinberg Band in Orlando she released three discs, “Sky High,” “360 Hibiscus,” and a fun six song EP, “Sex with Amy.” After going solo, she released “Raw Material from the Ethereal,” “Emphatic at the Attic,” “Clown Princess,” “Must be the Moon,” and “Fall Down to Fly.” She sells her discs on the road and online and has been successful at creating a fan base by word of mouth and a lot of intense touring. She has shared the stage with Ani Difranco, Alix Olson, Buddy Wakefield, Lisa Loeb, Melissa Ferrick and many other talented artists.

Playing and composing music is only one of Amy’s many creative undertakings. She writes and performs one woman shows, morphing into different characters right before your eyes. She paints vibrant acrylic pieces which show in galleries and coffeehouses around the country. And she is a budding novelist, ever working on her novels about a psychic touring rocker named Clementine Wilder.

When she isn’t writing, playing, painting or touring, Amy is the Music Director at the Boca Center for Spiritual Living, featuring regularly and leading the Inspire Choir who sing mostly her compositions. In the past two years, she has taken on teaching piano, voice, guitar and theater at Bravo Academy as well, passing on the gift of creativity with fervent joy.

She is a firm believer in the ever expanding nature of the universe and is excited to see her newest record reach a larger audience than ever. Full of firm faith and bubbling joy, she encourages all her fans and friends to keep reaching for their dreams and remembering their divine perfection.
