Half rock tigress, half opera diva, Andrea Plamondon has been compared to singers as diverse as Siouxie Sioux, Blondie, Luisa Gerrard, Annie Lenox, Ofra Haza, Whitney Houston and others. An "artist in many genres", whose work has been described as "dramatic, atmospheric and compelling", Plamondons' vocal prowess was first noticed by visiting artist Rick Brant of the N.Y. Metropolitan Opera. She has has fronted bands in many of the Bay Areas most popular clubs and venues, and has performed leading roles in theatrical productions on the east and west coasts.
With a background in the Dramatic and Visual Arts, a degree in Poetics, and over 10 years of classical voice training, her collaborations have been featured on radio and internet radio in the United States and abroad, have been accepted for music licensing, and have been included in various compilations, including two Woa Records releases produced and conceptualized by MTV Europe Music Awards Nominee Oliver Sean.
Plamondon is currently at work on a trilogy of Sacred Arias with arranger and composer for film and tv, Charlie Barnett, and on her own original compositions. She is also the vocalist for 'Safffra', a transoceanic collaboration with rapper and Hip-Hop artist Terbleos of Ghana Africa.
