Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers
Halifax rock trio Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers are gearing up for the bands first release since the self titled EP that earned them an ECMA and multiple Music Nova Scotia award nominations. You may recall the bands award winning hit “The Feel Good Song” that spun heavily on radio across Canada eventually cracking the top forty and was also featured on the International hit TV series “Degrassi: The Next Generation”.
But forget what you know; back with a new energy, new sound and a new record that’s being touted as the bands best work to date, “Warhorses” (Due September) is powerful and catchy, fierce and free. It’s the glove like fit of Bryan Page on drums and Jonny Goud on bass, mixed with complementary guitar textures and soaring harmonies to make for a wider soundscape. Teaming up with producer/engineer Darren van Neikerk (K-os ,The Stanfields, Matt Mays) and recording at Halifax’s famed Sonic Temple, results are easy to note. van Neikerk manages to perfectly capture the bands electric live energy at the same time as that of a group creatively on fire. The first single “One Good Reason” is at radio now.
Warhorses, the brand new album from Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers is due for release this September.
