Born into a family with an extensive musical background (her father was the person who first signed Arrested Development), Angelique is a true student of music. She started studying piano, guitar, and drums while she was just a child, recently proving her abilities as she was selected #1 on Sidney, Australia’s top 5 Rising Star Countdown, #1 on Jamaica’s Hype TV, #1 on Tempo Video Network, and proclaimed by Crushable.com as one of the 15 artists that the world will know in a year!
“I grew up around this passion, love, and creativity for music. From a young age, I knew that this is what I wanted to do,” says Angelique.
Angelique’s sound is distinct; Pop and R&B with a sizzling Caribbean touch. Her youthful energy, style, and maturity is highly unusual for someone her age or even 10 years her senior. As a student of the classics , Angelique studies all the greats from the vocal prowess of Tony Bennett and Barbara Streisand, to the stunning stage presence of Michael Jackson. She also is a gifted dancer, aspiring actress, model, and is articulate and quick enough to host her own talk show. It is no surprise that she is already receiving several major endorsements including the Bahamas’ largest telecom company.
Angelique has amassed a legion of heavyweight supporters at an amazingly rapid pace. She has been tabbed as the next Rihanna by MTV, Ryan Seacrest, and several other industry notables. Recently receiving a People’s Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year, she also performed an original song penned for Sidney Poitier called “The Measure Of A Man” in front of Sir Sidney and Oprah Winfrey. In fact, Angelique’s unique style, attitude and confidence has enabled her to develop strong live performances. She recently performed for a crowd of over 20,000 people in the Bahamas, was the youngest person ever to headline the main-stage at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica, and even sold out the legendary Webster Hall in New York with Ryan Beatty.
She is currently on the road in support of her first single “Pull Up”, which is being set up now for an early 2013 release. Over 400 of the top NFL NBA, and MLS Cheerleaders joined Angelique in the video dancing to Angelique’s original choreography.
Angelique is also in the studio, well into the development of her first full album. She is working with Grammy Award Winner Rockwilder, Grammy-winner Hennessy, and the Youngboyz.
Rockwilder enthusiastically says, “She’s the One! She’s going to be HUGE!”
Barbados Born Shontelle agrees saying ”Oh my gosh, she is going to be the next big thing!”
