Biography

Anna Spackman has a shameless and enduring love for human beings, and music is its vehicle. With a background in classical piano and a strong foundation in folk guitar, her captivating acoustic hooks and luminous voice have been likened to Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple.

Anna is a gentle yet powerful presence when she takes the stage. Her songs are crafted with care and style, carried by her playful, lilting voice and rich guitar work. Anna shares much of herself and her experience with the audience, revealing herself as funny, thoughtful, and eager to learn from the stories of others. Accompanied by her brother Donnie, a tremendous talent on the drums, she puts on a show that is joyous, bold, and utterly riveting.

Anna grew up in Pennsylvania, and now lives in Portland, OR. She is performs in college venues as well as playing in the Siren Sessions with Margaret Wehr and Sam Emmitt, every third Tuesday at the Jade Lounge. In her visits to PA, she is a regular performer at the Steel City Coffeehouse in Phoenixville and the Seven Stones Cafe in Media.
