Jazz bassist and composer Anne Mette Iversen is one of the most talented composers on the jazz scene today. With her writings for various sized jazz groups, jazz group with string quartet, and her new project of chamber jazz art songs: The Poetry of Earth Collection; she has defined a personal voice that truly stands out as unique, creative and masterful. Rooted in jazz tradition and classical music but always seeking new ways of expressing herself; the music is written with a rare ability for making musical intricacies sound natural and straight forward. But beneath the surface are layers of textures and musical material which keeps the music new and fresh, and constantly challenges the musicians to be/perform at their very best.
