Bay area native, singer and entrepreneur April Todd- Welsh is quickly rising amongst today's jazz-pop divas who do it all. Says April, "I was always doing something artistic growing up, but I didn't realize I wanted to be a singer until my Junior High talent show when I sang "God Bless The Child". From that point on, music became a passion!" After traveling with Bobby McFerrin and The Oakland Youth Chorus, performing in several college choirs, musical theater, and frequenting open mic night at Mr. E's (Shelia E's father) in Berkeley CA, April relocated to Seattle WA in 2002. "I love Seattle!" she says. She performs regularly with her husband and Seattle soul jazz saxophone great, Danny Welsh at venues region wide."I love to think back to the days when I sang Motown songs with my father on an old beat up amp and mic in our living room. It keeps me in touch with why I do this. So even when it gets hard I keep it moving!"
