Aqueous

Biography

A meld of rock-based jamming and shifting improvisation, Aqueous pulls from so many musical styles that it's difficult to categorize them without discrediting at least one aspect of the band's musicality. From their sweeping and catching melodies to their intense compositions and songwriting, the momentum of this band is undeniable. If one concrete thing could be said about this band, there's nothing that compares to seeing Aqueous perform live. With their heavy focus on segues and ever changing set lists, you can be sure that every show will be a brand new experience, not one to be missed.

Often compared to the likes of other jam band heavyweights moe., Phish, and Umphrey's McGee, as well as 70's prog-rock, Aqueous is a band that pushes onward and upward with every performance, live and in the studio. Playing over 100 shows since their formation in early 2006, the progression of this band is something to take notice of. Aqueous has graced the stage of many notable venues, and with their ever growing dedicated fan base, the venues have gotten bigger and better. Their reputation as Buffalo's most dynamic and exciting live band has taken them to new levels.

The band formed in the year 2006 with members consisting of Brad Darrall (drums), Mike Gantzer (guitar/vocals), Dave Loss (guitar/vocals) and Evan McPhaden (bass guitar). It wasn’t until late 2008 that percussionist Nick Sonricker joined Aqueous. Nick is a long time friend of the band and had played with them on many occasions before officially joining.
