Arthur Mountaniol, a former leader of the Russian new wave avant-garde rock band "The Moon Pierrot" (1985-1992), has been called the Salvador Dali of Rock and insane genius. An innovative guitarist, singer and composer, with unusual interests in Shamanism, Paganism, Witchcraft, Vikings, Native Americans and Asian throat-singing and later in an avant-garde fimmaking and World Cinema. In 1992, Arthur moved from Russia to Germany where he embarked on his solo career. In 1996, he was discovered by a U.S. indie label and that eventually led him to America. In 1998, after arriving in L.A., he immediately released his first solo album “5 Song Debut” on J-bird Records. Since then he continues to be a prolific recording artist , with his live shows as a one-man band, he shocks both audiences and press. Since 2000, he has recorded over 15 solo works. In 2004, he established his own record label / publishing "The Moon Pierrot Republic" (ASCAP) and released his first bizarre throat-singing rock experiment "Shamania" and other works in the same spirit. in 2005, Arthur Mountaniol has been nominated for the best guitar player by L.A.’s newspaper Rock City News and for his creative contributions to American music, he has also been honored with the ASCAP Plus Award eight times in a row. In 2008, he also became a filmmaker and his short film “Forbidden Fruit Carnival” was an official selection for Shockfest of Hollywood 2010 and was premiered at The Charlie Chaplin’s Theater (Raleigh Studios Hollywood). Nowadays, Arthur Mountaniol is involved in quite a few film and music projects and is planning to start shooting his first feature film "The Wraith" in the middle of this summer (2012).
