As Sick As Us is a melodic death metal band like no other out of North Carolina creating new rhythms on the progressive front. ASAU is the missing link that has bridged the gap between all the metal genres by introducing a much needed new and dynamic sound to the scene. Our songs have many styles flowing through them- like a piece of stranded rope we twist into our music unique melodies and incorporate influences, both old and new, from different genres. The resulting hybrid sound produces an eclectic sound mix that is a refreshing break from the pack.
As Sick As Us was formed in 2008 by the brothers Zack and Zane Oskins. The group started like most bands do- young friends with a lot of energy, drums, guitars, amps and a garage. But what was unique about this particular set of friends was the inherent talent all of them brought to the table. It was the 'perfect storm' that has now produced one of the hottest bands in the Southeast. ASAU songs all share a common denominator- they produce a response in people at a base level.
As Sick As Us is now grabbing LOTS of attention across the Eastern U.S. and its much anticipated self titled EP was released in October 2009. The group regularly plays at premier venues such as Ground Zero, Greene Street Club, Headliners, Somewhere Else Tavern, New Brookland Tavern, The Handlebar, The Orange Peel and a host of others.
