Biography

Asako Takasaki –Jazz Vocalist Born in Toyama Japan, at age 20, the Keyboard player of the jazz fusion group T–SQUARE, Mr.Hirotaka Izumi told me I should sing. Then Master & Musician’s Musician Olu Dara said to my singing “ You are so attractive” It was my beginning. After several recordings original songs directed by Iwao Ochi, Guitar player in Japan, I moved to Harlem NY. Perform at world famous Apollo Theater “ Amateur Night” and made more recordings in NY. In 2005 I started perform professionally in New York City at places including Hotel Stanford, The Maxim Lounge. I was the first Japanese vocal at Shrine in Harlem. Toured in Japan with Makoto Terashita and Performed as a Main Vocalist of The Harlem Yellow Jazz Girls in 2007. Also I started Assistant Coach of Beverley Smith Work Shop in 2008.
