Aspect is the band name for musician, songwriter, and producer Dan Heerdt. The name was chosen to represent the different parts played when creating an album: guitarist, keyboardist, drummer, bassist, singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer.
Coming from various local garage bands where he served as drummer and keyboardist, Dan attempted to record his first full-length album in 1997: Flashpoint's "Fight Fire with Fire." The results weren't exactly stunning but did give birth to the notion of Aspect.
Over a decade later, two full-length releases have been recorded. A lot of trial and error went into the production to get it up to par with commercial releases and the evolution of Dan's musicianship is apparent.
Songs range from fast rockers to longer, sweeping epics but always carry the same level of emotion and high energy with a strong focus on melody.
