BIO They’ve been called a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde, performing as their alter-ego “The Dandy Outlaws.” ATTACK CAT is the girl/guy pop-rock duo from Cleveland with former drummer for Relient K Dave Douglas and Rachel Hoskins.
The duo’s signature is in their girl/guy vocals that battle it out for the leads while transitioning into tight harmonies. They’ve been compared to a range of artists including Missing Persons and Mates of State.
ATTACK CAT has been seen and heard recently performing at the New York City soundtrack release event for the movie DRESSED, which was rated a top-10 fashion documentary by stylist.com. Their music will be featured in the DRESSED webseries opening Thanksgiving weekend 2011, to be shown in New York taxicabs and elsewhere. They were one of two featured performers for Fashion Week Cleveland, have had their video contest sponsored by Best Buy and had their single "You Want Me Crazy" featured in a Toyota commercial.
The Plain Dealer says ATTACK CAT is one of "25 Northeast Ohio Bands to Watch" in the Sept. 2011 article and described them as "Pop-rock with driving rhythms, gritty guitars and well-crafted arrangements."
Influenced by grunge, hair metal, punk rock and musical theatre, the duo’s sound is driven by gritty, full-sounding guitars and lyrics that juxtapose pondering idealism with rebellious angst. They self-record and produce their tracks with Douglas pulling triple duty on guitars, bass and drums. Douglas and Hoskins are currently writing and recording their next album to be released October 4, 2011.
