I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. I won a scholarship to study music at University Music College, University of Salford in England. I later studied and passed a post-graduate diploma in Librarianship and Publishing Studies at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.
I am a free-lance trombonist, music arranger, published composer, screenplay writer and author. I worked in London and Manchester for the BBC and ITV. I have worked as an orchestrator / arranger for various record companies.
I am a published composer and write all types of music from classical to jazz. I wrote a full three-hour musical: Hong Kong Oriental including the script (libretto) and music. I write easy listening orchestral music and film library CD albums under the stage name: Auralis. You can find, download and hear my sheet music on www.scoreexchange.com.
You can find my CD albums including MP3 downloads on: ww.CDBaby.com or any MP3 download site such as www.Amazon.com or Apple ITunes etc just input the name: Auralis - Cinematic Soundtracks Vol. 1. or Sound Traveller Vols. 1 & 2 and this will link you up to my other 11 albums just click on the name Auralis.
At 72 years of age, except when I conduct the Auralis Session Orchestra, I no longer perform, but confine myself to writing movie screenplays, orchestral music for the Easy Listening and Film Music libraries and doing orchestrations and arrangement for other musicians.
Besides writing music, I have written two published fiction novels: 'Operation Jackdaw' and 'To Snare a Fox', and a football book, 'Fergie’s Protégés', which can be found on Amazon books. I started writing screenplays late on in my life and have written six full features so far, but have not as yet been optioned by a movie producer. I intend to add to this number. Two of these scripts are currently on ww.InkTip.com my script agents site, and I am hoping a movie producer will option them.
