Axioma 2 Dúo

Axioma II duo is formed in 2009, by the guitarists Mateo ARNAIZ and Javier SANTAELLA MORALES.
After having obtained, both of them, the degree of Teacher of Music specialized in guitar at the age of 19,
they meet each other in 2003 while taking their postgraduate studies in Paris at the Ecole Normale “Alfred
Cortot” being part of Alberto PONCE class, where they obtain, unanimously, the performing Diploma, the
Performing Superior Diploma and the Soloist Diploma with the highest grades.
They keep on improving themselves when finishing their studies, attending to several master classes with
Roland DYENS, Eduardo FERNANDEZ, Carlo MARCHIONE, Pablo MARQUEZ and David RUSSELL amongst
others.
Mateo Arnáiz, at the same time, gets his D.E.A (Advanced studies diploma) at the U.N.E.D (University) in
Madrid. In 2005 he releases his first album “Preludios” including works by F. Tárrega, H. Villa-Lobos and L.
Brower, among others, and went on to release his second record, “Capricios – Boleros-Fandangos”, with a 19th
Century Guitar (1820) in 2006.In 2009 he releases his third record Isaac Albeniz “Suite Española”.
On the other hand, Javier Santaella Morales attends to early Music courses, electroacoustic Music courses
with Roger Cochini and he also takes university studies which make him achieve the degree in Musicology at La
Rioja University (Spain).
Besides achieving numerous prices as soloists they perform concerts both individually and as chamber
musicians in different countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Portugal or Poland. In 2010 the duet
participates in the Festivalgerie (International festival in early music and andalusian Music in Algeria) winning
critics and audience success and they also collaborate with the national television in Algeria.
In 2011 they release their first album Souvenirs de Paris with pieces written by Mateo Arnáiz for duet and
soloist guitar.
