Baboon Torture Division

Biography

Baboon Torture Division is a Canadian guitar/bass duo who play along with a computer. Masked superhero and lead singer, Steve Biloba, plays guitar and Pocketron XP plays bass in a gas mask and sunglasses. Never comfortable with being pinned to a single genre or sound, they have released songs covering a broad range of the music spectrum. Different songs and albums have been described as industrial, country, noise, pop, techno, chiptunes, breakcore, and kids music, but the band has always simply called their music experimental. Live shows often involve improvised interaction with the audience, giving them a mask and inducting them into the band to bang out beats on sheet metal or noodle with circuit bent instruments. Frequent guest members include Ronald Reagan, Ronald McRonald, a bear and the monopoly guy.

The Mud & The Blood & The Beer
2008
Baboon Torture Division goes country. BTD covers some western classics and adds their own special sauce. The sauce is smooth, sweet, and a bit spicy. A mature sound for the BTD, but their tongues are pressed to their cheeks for the whole album.

Baboon Torture Division's Greatest Hits
2007
Steve Biloba is a self-proclaimed master of music editing. On this album he mutilates some of his old tracks, chops up Hulk Hogan, slices and dices Christopher Walken, and drops a few pretty fresh beats. So is this a greatest hits collection or what? No.
