Banish the Omen

Powerfully emerging from the nuclear desert in the American Southwest, Banish the Omen furiously blends the passion of fast-paced progressive metal, uplifting technical percussion, aggressive and poetic vocals, the deep brutality of heavy, jaw-clenching breakdowns, and emotionally inspiring melodic riffs into a seamless display of captivating metal. Formed in late 2011, Banish the Omen originally started as four friends from High School in an Albuquerque, New Mexico living room. Drawing inspiration from bands like Periphery, Parkway Drive, and Misery Signals, Banish the Omen’s musical and lyrical writing style reflect the relentless complexity of the victories and struggles of being a human, and captures the intensity of facing both life and death without fear. Staying true to one another and to themselves, Banish The Omen played numerous well-received local shows to loyal and metal-hungry fans and, nearly a decade after graduation, Daniel DeMar (Drums), Brandon Fontaine (Guitar), Rob Tenorio (Guitar), and Derek Holt (Vocals) released an independent, completely self-produced album just less than two years after their formation. The band makes a point to spread the word that Banish the Omen is barely warming up and will be writing new material and touring come 2014.
