Bas Duo is based in the New York City metro area. They have been featured artists at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, the acclaimed 'Concerts at One' at Trinity Church/Wall Street, and numerous concert series. Bas Duo has a reputation for creative programming and virtuosic performances that cross over the classical edge.
Elyse Knobloch has performed with a wide variety of ensembles including the Boston Woodwind Trio, Storm King Woodwind Quintet, Hudson Chamber Music
Society, the Ariel Trio, Aves Musicum, and Northern Westchester Flutes. She has been heard as chamber musician and soloist at New England Life Hall, SUNY
at Purchase, Concordia College, Boston Conservatory, Downtown Music at Grace, National Flute Convention 2009, and has recorded for programs on WCRB,
Boston radio as well as Up Against the Wall Productions.
An avid supporter of new music, Ms. Knobloch has premièred works by John Bavicchi, Joel Kabakov, John Leslie Adams, Peter Frost, and others. Additional contemporary performances include the music of Ludmila Ulehla, Joan Tower, and Bruce Lazarus. Greatest influences are Thomas Nyfenger, Paul Fried and Paige Brook.
Peter Press performs as guitarist with a wide array of distinguished ensembles including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York Philharmonic, Mid-Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Symphony, Amor-Artis, and many others. His repertoire covers a vast
spectrum of styles, ranging from Vivaldi concertos to Mahler symphonies and Gershwin opera. Performances have taken him to Harvard and Columbia, the
Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Caramoor.
Mr. Press has performed and recorded premières of new works by leading composers: Hans Werner Henze, David Del Tredici, Ben Alaway and Sir Peter
Maxwell Davies among others. He collaborates with new music ensembles such as Consortium, Speculum Musicae, League of Composers ISCM, and
Parnassus. He has recorded for Koch International, Bridge, DRG, RCA Victor and Centauer Labels. Festival appearances have included those with Marlboro,
Summergarden and Music in the Mountains.
