BAS KLEINE & HIS HARMANIACS
“ Harpdriven roots, jump and old school blues”.
Bas Kleine & His Harmaniacs return to the “Beale Street Corner Feel” . A double bass, a snaredrum, harmonica and guitar and a good song. Anyone who is under the impression that blues is hard to digest, will feel converted like someone that has just been baptised. However, “The Harmaniacs” do not have a mission, but only a goal: “let the good times roll!”.
BAS KLEINE – harmonica/vocals:
A quarter of a centrury impassioned harpplayer with a.o. Sugar Mama, Albatross, No Jacks, Jean Paul Rena & Terrawheel. Still tours Europe on a regular basis with i.e. Barry McCabe , Livin’Blues . Also much sought after studiomusician.
HERMAN DRIESTEN – guitar
Started out a young talent with Dutch giants Flavium. Released a live lp (!) as singer/guitarplayer with the band Sketch. Is known as the Frisian answer to Roy Buchanan. Until recently the driving force behind Chickens Go Mad. Together with Bas Kleine also active in Big Bounce en Ubrabaya.
RON AWATER – double bass/vocals
Converted guitarplayer. Without competition Holland’s friendliest bassplayer, Known from a.o. Sugar Mama and the “Crawling Coons”.
WILLEM DE JONGH – snaredrum/hihat
If “less is more” could ever be applied to a person, then that person has to be Willem. He puts and keeps the swingtrain into motion with minimal means. Would have been a fearsome opponent to Ron when it comes to friendliness should he have been a bassplayer. Besides leading percussionworkshops also on the road a lot with “Muppet Stuff” and as a freelance drummer.
