Becoming August was formed in 2007 when Allen Higgins, a guitar player/songwriter from Brunswick Maine asked Anna Libby to sing some demo ideas for him. Allen says “She may have a country background, but she has all the power and delivery of the best female rock singers.” With Allen’s rock guitar background, a powerful mix of influences & sounds make up Becoming August’s first album “Twenty-One”. Their new EP “Someplace Better” (to be released in January 2012) is even another step forward with Anna co-writing 2 tracks (Sunnyside Down & Best Place). Allen says “we worked really hard on this record, from the writing & playing to the production/sound end. To really not have it lack anything.” The band is currently holding auditions to fill a couple spots, and hopes to hit the road in 2012 for some kick ass live shows.
