Big River Stomp

Offering nothing but the best in original, modern bluegrass music.

This is the new acoustic!

James Studley (Guitar and Vocals, from West Greenwich, RI) founded Big River Stomp. He provides ample talent on the guitar and comes from a background comprised of bluegrass and good old fashioned rock and roll. Jim is a fantastic songwriter as well, check him out on his own "Love in Disguise"!
He has been performing in bluegrass bands in the Northeast for some time now and has one of the most solid "G-runs" in the business today, providing elegant and rhythmic guitar backups and tasty lead runs in addition to his soaring vocals.

Jeff Budzinski (Mandolin/Vocals, from East Greenwich, RI) fuses the old and the new sounds of bluegrass mandolin with hot, progressive jazz and blues licks. In addition to his excellent playing ability, he is also a great songwriter, singer, composer, and audio engineer! So far Jeff has written 2 great songs for BRS as well as an instrumental (Shepaug Struggle, which can be heard right on the website) and adds a great dynamic to the lineup.

Matt DiPinto (Upright Bass, from Providence RI and some parts north) is the backbone and rhythm master of BRS. As the master of the 4-String, Matt brings us a rock-solid, tasteful, and highly articulated approach to playing the big bull fiddle and he even has fun doing it. Lately Matt has been incorporating the bass bow into our repertoire along with his stylized, and electrifying, yet tasteful approach to our collective endeavors, and we think it sounds mighty fine!

Jesse Burdick (Banjo/Vocals, from Johnston, RI) has been performing and honing his skills as a banjo player and tenor singer for a very long time in the northeast, and has shared the stage with great local and national acts such as String Fingers, Held Without Bail, and the Bourbon Boys. He likes to keep one foot in the old and one in the new with his playing, and that's the way we like it. Jesse is also a great songwriter and brought BRS two more originals with more in the works!

The BRS boys have enjoyed a lot of success in a very short amount of time. Recently, they played the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival's showcase stage and have been nominated for a Motif Music Award for best bluegrass band.
