Bill’s musical background includes piano, keyboards, guitar, trumpet, harmonica, various ethnic flutes, vocals and creative composition.
Since the age of six, Bill was encouraged and exposed to music through his family, mainly his father, a trumpet and piano player, and his uncle, a piano and piccolo player. During his youth, Bill took trumpet lessons, and has branched out into other instruments and vocals, developing a unique style of his own.
Bill’s music style has been heavily influenced and inspired by the following two gentlemen. Mr. Dunphy, his High School Band Director, who taught him music theory and made both music and marching enjoyable experiences, and Mr. Wajda, his Choir Director, who not only made choir adventurous, but through his creativity, added a unique depth and dimension to chorale music by playing underlining melodies and chord progressions of familiar tunes that made singing in the choir a fun learning experience.
Initially interested in acoustic instruments, Bill was not drawn to the early electronic systems. As the electronic instruments evolved, and started reproducing a better acoustic quality and allowing the musician a broader control of the elemental components of the sounds and voices, he took a major interest in the creative possibilities of the keyboard.
Another passion of Bill’s is Sacred Geometry and its correlation to music theory. Through his studies, he learned about the importance of different frequencies and how they impact our energy. He was inspired by this information to create music that harmonizes and resonates with the natural frequencies of life. His pioneering compositions have a universal belonging quality that brings us to a state of serene awareness.
His Irish heritage and early exposure to other cultural backgrounds and traditions has impacted his life in memorable ways. These and his spiritual interests are deeply woven in the fabric of his life and reflected in his music.
His music is an outward artistic extension and expression of his genuinely caring and compassionate nature. He and his wife, Nilza, started a coaching company called, "A Soul At Play" which you may visit at: http://www.asoulatplay.com.
