Black Market III is the new band formed by Scottie ‘Mad Dog’ Blinn, front man for the multi-award winning iconic San Diego band The Mississippi Mudsharks. Black Market III has quickly turned into a red hot band focused on playing hard hitting, soulful Blues, American Roots, and Grease Punk (the vein of Social Distortion and the Clash). BMIII is being touted as "the band to watch" by Dave Good of the San Diego Reader and is a 2012 San Diego Music Award nominee. Their first full length CD "Songs That Shake The Cage" was released in August 2012. The "Shakin' The Cage" tour includes an extensive amount of shows in Europe and the US.
Black Market III crosses over, using the blues as the root of the sound. In addition to their original music, BMIII features covers from Tom Waits, Wayne Walker, Leadbelly, Social Distortion and many more. No pigeon holing this band--blues and American Roots firmly planted, yet not like anything you've heard or seen before.
The band prides itself on its ability to perform diversely and dynamically, playing full blown concerts to small 'stripped down' semi-acoustic shows.
Scottie 'Mad Dog' Blinn- front man for the Mississippi Mudsharks with multiple San Diego Music Awards and nominations (3 wins, 13 nominations), European blues chart topping CD‘s (Two #1’s, a #3, and a #4 on the CrossCut Blues Chart), as well as 20 years of experience gigging, recording, and touring the States and Europe (12th Euro tour Fall 2012). Scottie has played with and shared stages with some of the biggest names in the business, including Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, Brian Setzer (Stray Cats), Dr. John, Dick Dale, and Rick Derringer.
Roxy Coverdale- rock solid bassist discovered by Scottie 'Mad Dog’ Blinn. Roxy's vocals are a perfect complement to Scottie's, and she lays down the solid foundation for the band's sound.
Haley Allen- at 23 years of age is already an accomplished pro and has in demand by many local SD bands. Haley keeps a deep pocket, her attitude is on fire, and she gives the old classics and BMIII originals a shot of adrenaline. She has become 'the talk' of the local scene.
