Blair Miskie and The Goods

The band’s unique blend of 60's rock and modern indie rock reflects Miskie’s roots. Having been raised in a house of 60’s rock music, his songwriting combines the modern styles of today’s youth with the sonic identity of the baby boomer generation in his own unique way that provides familiarity to the group’s wide audience. Blair Miskie and The Goods’ songs reflect influences ranging from Squeeze and Buddy Holly to Weezer, while “the structure, melody, and theory behind their songs make them a great listen for anyone who has ever wondered what else can be done to rock and roll” (Goderich Signal-Star, Gerard Creces).

The initial line up emerged about three years ago with front man, Blair Miskie and bassist, James Beaver who began playing together from the beginning of University. Forming a band with fellow peers, they donned the name “Bread Envy” and soon established themselves throughout London; placing among the Top 5 upcoming acts in Canada after representing the city in a national battle of the bands. With demand for a record and winnings in hand, the group headed for the studio to produce their debut EP, “Events Soon Forgotten,” under the name “Blair Miskie and The Goods.”

Their CD was released in June of 2010 and took to the airwaves, receiving local coverage on CBC Radio 93.5, London's Best Rock FM96, The Beach 104.9, CHRW 94.9 and ‘A’ Channel News. Shortly after, their music hit the international market with CD and online sales in Europe and the United States, as well as airplay in Poland, London England and California.

The end of University marked a turning point for the band with members pursuing other avenues, however, the bond between Miskie and Beaver remained strong as they sought out a new drummer and lead guitarist. With change came strength and an all star lineup! The addition of Ian Morris (son of ‘Rush’ producer Ken Morris and certified drummer of the ‘Drummer’s Collective’ in New York) and Matt Shelvock (Nashville session musician and former lead guitarist for ‘Lighthouse’ drummer, Skip Prokop) united the band’s tight and energetic live show.
