It was a dark and stormy night. An ambulance crept along the Autobahn, heading for the hospital in Augsburg, Germany.
In the back, a nervous father was bent over his wife, as she struggled in the throes of labor. Snow had slowed the ambulance to a crawl, and dad knew he would have to take action if they didn’t get there soon. Fortunately, he was a doctor. As she went into another contraction, he said “Pull over. I think she’s about to blow…”
Five agonizing minutes later, Bob Merrill poked his head into the world and started singing the blues.
Five years later, Bob saw a piano and said to himself, “I got this.” And the rest is history.
