Bond & Bentley began in 2006 as a vehicle for long time friends Ray Wroten and Stan Wetters to express their energy through music. The infant stages of the band were basic transformations of Wroten's acoustic songs to three piece band arrangements. Over several months of honing their material the band (then an acoustic driven 3 piece) played several small venues in the Baltimore metro area. After finding a solid lead guitarist the band went into the studio to record "Dreams Don't Pay the rent", a full length studio album released in 2007. With a fire to see the country the band began touring the United States.
In early 2009 after much demand for new material the band began work on their second studio effort "Take 2" featuring a new lineup and a more eclectic arrangement and writing technique. They have sold thousands of copies of that album since it's release in July 2009 and have put together a fun high energy live act which is the band's core selling point.
In Late 2011 B&B release their first download only album "Airwaves", a collection of live performances as well as radio interviews and acoustic tracks.
In the summer of 2012 the band released "Hold Steady", their 3rd full-length studio album. With a much more polished sound and the departure of some members, the band has reinvented it's sound again. Leaving the world of hip-hop behind and forging into a new blues/soul/funk frame of writing. The addition of Alex Watts on drums, Ian Macfie on keys and vocals, and electric blues guitar of Jarrett Kobin and Kevin Cooper the band created a sound that is not only pop sensible but has a new "kickin ass east coast blues" feel.
With more changes to the sound, B&B decided to release a live album as sort a time capsule to showcase what the live element sounded like. They released "Bond & Bentley at Rams Head Live" in 2014. The album contained 10 live tracks and an unplugged version of a new song called "One String"
The band is a touring machine, playing over 200 shows a year all across North America. The band has showcased 3 times during music week in Austin, TX and played with national bands such as; Cake, Citizen Cope, G Love, Robert Randolph and the family band, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Everclear, J Roddy Walston and The Business, Ballyhoo, Pasadena, The Pie Tasters, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Wax, and countless other amazing up and coming bands. Bond & Bentley looks to keep the force moving across continents with more live shows and keep the music flowing with even more new material coming soon.
