The Holland Sentinel hails Matthew Ball is “one of Michigan’s premier blues & boogie-woogie pianists!” With recent debuts in New York and Chicago, and a performance history spanning jazz fests to symphony appearances, Matthew is described as “a rising giant in the field.”
Ball’s start in Jazz only began in 2001 after he attended a local boogie-woogie festival. He was so awestruck by the performances there, he left his career as an attorney to become a blues & boogie woogie performing artist.
Today described as "a Gen-X arrival to this uniquely American art-form," Matthew is helping to define a new generation's contribution to this treasured American tradition.
