Brandon Smith

Brandon Ray Smith born July 5, 1986. Rapper, visual artist, and actor. A native of Centralia, IL, Brandon was a visual artistic prodigy in his early childhood years and eventually discovered his gifts in both rap music and acting during his sophomore year of high school. During the period between his final years at high school and his two years at Kaskaskia College, Brandon recorded two mixtapes; "Dragon Of The Underground" and "Dragon Of The Underground Session 2". The titles of these first two projects originates from two factors. The first being that during Brandon's childhood, he gained a fascination with sea serpents and mythical creatures with his favorite becoming dragons. The second factor comes from the use of different phrases within the Hip-Hop culture such as "spits that fire", "hot rhymes", or "fired up". The combination of Brandon's rap skills and fascination with dragons earned him the nickname "Smith Dragon" in high school and "Dragon Fly" during his years in college. Still to this day, dragons are a common theme associated with Brandon and his artistry. From that point on, Brandon continued to grow and sharpen in various forms of artistry but mostly focused his attention on his music career. In May 2010 Smith graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in audio production, along with a minor in art. During Brandon's attendance, he recorded his first original album called "The Dragon-man Prophecy" which was released June 2010 and is still available on Amazon.com. Brandon continues his climb to success looking to make a living as a professional performer and advance his skills in the artistry. Recently on June 19, 2012, Brandon released a fully original mixtape called "The Prelude Vol. 1" which is described as an appetizer to prepare people for Brandon's second full length album that's in the works. Brandon has also completed his very first original oil painting in his art career titled "Mother N' Son" which was completed in September 2012.
