Brass Band Northwest

Brass Band Northwest is composed of professional, semi-professional, and amateur musicians from the Seattle/Bellevue area who perform four to five major concerts a year. Under the direction of Judson Scott, BBNW is grounded in the tradition of the British brass band, with all-brass instrumentation: cornets, flugelhorn, alto horns, baritiones, euphoniums, trombones, and tubas, plus percussion. In addition to the traditional repertoire, the group explores an extensive range of other musical genres arranged for brass band. BBNW is in residence at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, where members perform for Sunday services several times a year, under the direction of Dr. Scott and FPCB Music Director Scott Dean. Brass Band Northwest hosts the Northwest Brass Band Festival in January each year, welcoming bands from California to British Columbia. The day is spent in clinics and performance with internationally recognized band clinicians and guest soloists, who have included Patrick Sheridan, Deanna Swaboda, Mark Gould, Philip Sparke, James Curnow, Douglas Yeo, and local favorite, Allen Vizzutti. Simply put: We are very serious - about having fun - making great music!
