Brian David & Plain Spoken Folk is from the Athens-Atlanta area and they draw from blues and folk roots to create a soulful, pop-singer/songwriter-ish vibe occasionally crossing into a gospelesque country-fied funk. All those different styles and genres have allowed them to keep things unique. Telling of faith, love, loss and joy, their songs, while poetic at times, can also be bare, simple and full of truth.
